Abstract

Multicultural education must be processed which is not only given a cognitive level without being based on interactive experiences between individuals. According to Jean Piaget, optimal education requires a challenging experience for the learner so that the process of assimilation and accommodation can produce intellectual growth. According to David Kolb, learning is a process in which knowledge is created through the transformation of experience, while that knowledge is produced from a combination to reveal experiences and transform them, therefore experience in the learning process is very important to do, so that educational goals can be maximized.

Interaction between religious communities at the Ngalah Purwosari Pasuruan pesantren by implementing the Live In Program, this program provides opportunities for non-Muslims and students to live together in one room and study together at the pesantren, so that they can be familiar and interact well.

The supporting factors for interaction between religious communities in the Ngalah Purwosari Pasuruan Islamic boarding school are Muslims and non-Muslims who can build trust, mutual confidence and think positively, while the inhibiting factor is that non-Muslims have a negative frame to Muslims before interacting with Muslims that Muslims have strict teachings. so that non-Muslims hate Muslims.
