ANALISIS TEMATIK MAKNA TERM S{ALAWA>T SEBAGAI AMPUNAN DALAM AL-QUR’AN

Abstract
In the Koran there is the word "salawat" five times. Some use the nakirah form in two places. And there are those who use the ma'rifat form in three places, two with idhafah and one with alif lam (Al).
The word "salawat" with the first form of nakirah is found in Surah Al-Baqarah verse 157. In the verse above the word "salawat" has the meaning of forgiveness according to the opinion of the commentators. This research tries to analyze the term salawat with its meaning as forgiveness for Allah's servants.
The final result of this research is that the original meaning of the word "salat" according to the majority of linguists is prayer. Meanwhile (if it comes) from Allah then it means mercy. According to other opinions, it means praise, glorification and forgiveness. According to Imam al-Ghazali, the meaning is to pay attention to all matters. Meanwhile, the appropriate meaning referred to here is praise and forgiveness, both in essence and in majestic meaning. Because if it is interpreted as grace then there is repetition or tikrar (because the word mercy is mentioned after it). This means that it is necessary to be tolerant towards fellow believers of other religions.
