Internalisasi Filsafat Pendidikan KH. Ali Imron Muhammad dalam Pembentukan Karakter Santri di Era Digital

This study examines the educational philosophy of KH. Ali Imron Muhammad and its internalization in shaping santri character at Pondok Pesantren Nuur al-Anwar amid the challenges of the digital era, including gadget dependency, declining discipline, and an emerging crisis of adab and responsibility. Employing a qualitative field-study design, data were gathered through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The findings show that the philosophy rests on an ontology of the human being as a spiritual servant of Allah (abdun), an epistemology treating knowledge as a trust to be lived out through effort and divine gift, and an axiology oriented toward adab, benefit to others, and Allah’s pleasure. This philosophy, rooted in the kiai’s own decades-long scholarly journey from Java to Makkah, is internalized through his exemplary role, habituation of worship and discipline, institutional regulations, and collective pesantren life, progressing through the affective stages of receiving, responding, valuing, organizing, and characterizing, and culminating in five character traits: religiosity, tolerance, discipline, independence, and responsibility. In doing so, this study affirms that a kiai’s educational philosophy, internalized systematically within pesantren life, remains a relevant and adaptive foundation for character formation in the digital era without compromising its spiritual and ethical roots.
